Sconces or strip lighting along the edges of the bathroom mirror provide the best light coverage with minimum shadows. The brightest portion of the vanity light fixture should be hung around 60" above the floor or at face level. Some fixtures are made for above the mirror only. Above the mirror light fixtures are available with open and enclosed globes. Some light fixtures with open globes can be mounted with the open end of the glass up or down for greater flexibility.
