Down lights fall under the same category as chandeliers and add a new look to any kitchen or high ceiling in your home, office or den.
Down lights, for the most part, hang from the ceiling - roughly 3-feet above your countertop or tables.
Here are some tips about general spacing for down lighting:
A proper lighting fixture using a single trim with a 75 watt bulb in an 8-foot ceiling will generally produce a 5 to 6-foot diameter area of light on your floor, counter top or selected area. For multiple lighting fixtures using the down lighting trend, space your fixtures roughly 5-feet from each other to make sure your lighting structure is kept uniform.
Do not forget that if you are using down lighting try to balance it with up lighting to make it easier on your eyes if in the room for long periods of time.
